BTW, I did think about suggesting chokes tubes and saving the money for the extra barrel but did not want to take the heat. Since the 20g. version has choke tubes what would be the big deal to do it on the 28? Judge has more guts than I do.

Just being practical, a.k.a. stingy. Better yet, just open the chokes some. No one would notice unless they have a bore gauge handy.

Builder,
Maybe next year, they will offer a 16 gauge gun that I think we will all be happy with.
I haven't said that the RBL is the greatest gun ever made. I have 5 ICD's and they are all much more desirable to own. Since they only made 500 Ithaca Classic Doubles, you won't see many owners dumping theirs. I have 1 16ga, 2 20ga, and 2 28ga guns and use them all.
When I bought the RBL, it was the rainy day backup to my favorite Ithaca.
Having said this, I find the RBL to be a great shooter and I consider it a production gun just as the Parker Repro. Therefore, it's not fair to compare it to the ICDs. It is fair to put it next to the Repro, though. For the reasons stated previously, you couldn't give me a Repro. I don't understand the great love for these guns. A reverse engineered American Classic doesn't make it a good gun, let alone treasure.
