I suspect that about anyone who is good at barrel lining of old cartridge guns could do this. Worst case would be to have the rifle barrel bored out a little undersized then a good shotgun barrel man could hone to size, choke and chamber it. Fo instance , bore a 30-35 caliber rifle to .390, finish it to .410 and choke to desired constriction. Then chamber. All this predicated on adequate wall thickness.
I have installed numerous liners for 22-25, and it is pretty easy. Buy a proper sized piloted drill from PTG and do your own drilling. Then have the barrel work done.

Nice Lang and Hussey, trw.
Am I right in thinking that when it was .410’d they sensibly kept the original rifle barrel external dimensions?
What is the backsight dovetail width front to back?
I might be able to find something as we are both on the same side of the pond.

I might be able to find something as we are both on the same side of the pond. Thank you, that is most kind. Yes, indeed the original barrel was kept. As for the rear sight, I suspect it would have been a typical rook rifle one fixed, one folding leaf type. Once I have collected it from A,G & L I shall be able to take accurate measurements for you. As Parabola knows, I own and use a William Powell top lever, side hammer gun than began life as a .360 rook rifle, and was rechambered in the 1920s to .410, with a 2 1/2" chamber. At the same time they turned down the octagonal barrel to be round, making it a sweet little shotgun. Where the rear sight was has been neatly blanked off.
But as my interest was in shooting Rook rifles, I asked a late gunsmith friend to make me another barrel, chambered in .32-20. This is octagonal, hand filed from a round .308 target barrel. It shoots both barrels very well.
I also own a Midland double hammer gun that was originally a .410, but has been lined (by the same gunsmith) with two old SMLE barrels and also chambered for .32-20. The right barrel is more worn and delivers a subsonic bullet, whilst the left second barrel is just supersonic, hence boom, CRACK !
The joys of old guns...

HB That rifle has the basis for a new project maybe. I saw a film of an F1 car where the mechanics had tuned the throttle control to go through a sequence that played the Star Spangled Banner. Maybe playing a song on a multiple barrel gun would be a neat project.
