Amen. I've plenty to be thankful for if I didn't have a bite to eat for Thanksgiving Day.

Pee' can pie is my favorite dessert of all time. Don't care much for puh cahn' pie.

There are two Karo syrups, Dark and Light. Most people use the dark to make a pecan pie, but my wife's recipe uses the light. It is MUCH better, IMHO. The filing is less gummy but with more flavor. Of course I'm partial! grin

Queen says her pecan pie recipe is the easiest pie recipe, of any kind, to make that she knows of.

Stan, I have made them with both and much prefer the light Karo.

A happy thanksgiving to you all.

A little different one for us this year as we’re out of state with grieving family. The day will start with a morning trip to the nursing home to spend some time with my 98 year old aunt and then travel to the home of my wife’s last sister where a small mix of family will gather. There will be some tears but I’m confident there will be even more gratitude.

And, yes, there will be pecan pie but circumstances this year preclude my wife being able to make her specialty: Paradise Pumpkin. 😋

A Happy Thanksgiving to all here with the love of family. Having spent a few holidays away in the military, let us think of those who are unable to be with their families. My God bless them!

The secret ingredient to Miss Julies’ peecan pie is a heaping smidge of Bourbon
and the perfect ratio of “Guts” to nuts.
