I am most thankful for Caleb Curtis Ford, born this year and my first great grandson. He looks like me, I hope he inherits my love of guns, he will inherit his share of the hardware. BTW, pecan pie is also my favorite, but due to the unfortunate lack of teeth the pecans now get chopped up.

It's apple pie for me, I don't like nuts cooked or mixed with anything. I know, there's something wrong with me. My son likes apple cranberry, my daughter made two pies, pumpkin for us, and a "pikkon" for her grandmother.

My condolences go out to those suffering a loss at this time of year, death is never easy, it's harder at the holidays. But, we can take comfort knowing that one of us has gone home to a better place, where there is no sorrow, and before any of us realize it, we will be reunited.

My wishes to everyone for a blessed Thanksgiving.

Tim

I guess I didnt see this thread before posting my own ( cellphones!).

Feeling very thankful today here and hoping you folks have good reasons for your own thankfulness, even in the face of life's challenges. Sadly, that never ends.

Blessings to you all.

Tim,
My Dad always said that making a pie from pumpkin just shows you can make one from sawdust if you put enough spices in it. My second favorite is either sweet potato or butternut squash, but they all use the same spices as pumpkin anyway.

As the family has grown over the yrs we started doing this. Same goodness but different format.
Great for potluck parties as well.

Let’s see.

In 2024 I lost about 50% of vision in my shooting eye, had to have emergency surgery after two exceedingly painful overnight stays in the emergency ward of our local hospital, my sister was diagnosed and then passed away from pancreatic cancer (gave her eulogy last week) and my 97 yo father entered the hospital after being found on the floor of his residence last week and likely won’t come home.

I’m thankful 2024 is almost over, that I’m above ground, that my son is healthy and happy and that I’ll be around to ensure 2025 is better than 2024.

Damn those pies look good.
