I wish to share this pre-war Boss I recently finished restocking. The previous stock was split at the wrist during a quail hunt. The gun was set on the side of a horse in a leather scabbard, unfortunately the horse pressed it against the side of a pine tree and snapped it!

This gun has a pretty cool provenance; belonging to the decendents of one of George Washingtons Aides de Camp during the Revolutionary war, whom shared passage in the same craft over The Delaware with Washington. The collection along with the name have been passed down through the family generations.

Enjoy!

Beautiful work! The colors of the walnut go perfectly with the color case hardening. Outstanding!

That is the third stock on that gun?

Wow.

Beautiful figure on the broken stock. A shame it was broken. Did the horse go to the glue factory?

Nice work.

Best,
Ted

Aaron;

Lovely work. The fit is so excellent that appears as if the wood grew onto the metal.

Kind Regards;

Stephen Howell

I am familiar with the dangers of carrying a nice double on horseback when quail hunting. An acquaintance of mine was hunting on horseback on a plantation that adjoins my land some years ago. His gun, a Winchester Custom Shop M21, was in a leather scabbard. The plantation owner's horse suddenly kicked the other horse with both back legs hitting the scabbard which broke the M21 stock. Bad day in "Blackrock".

May God bless America and those who defend her.
