Aaron, I remember when you were moving into your new shop some years ago. Your work has blossomed into mastery, as evidenced by the results you occasionally share with us here.

I think I’m in my 9th year of being self employed. I’m still working alone, and I’m unsure where I stand on an apprentice/hiring. My backlog is admittedly too long; but finding capable people, finding the time to train someone, and retaining them are problematic.

How long does it take you to re-stock an English Best sidelock?

Concave mullered borders make a great checkering job even greater. Superb. What finish did you use on the wood if it’s not a secret formula?

I'd be curious to know too, John, because I noticed that it matches exactly the results I get when using a 50/50 sanded in mixture of marine spar varnish and pure tung oil. The sheen and clarity is the same.
