Carol was the person who helped me to get started on my study of the Francotte records of A&F and VL&D. Upon learning of the treasure in the archives of Griffin and Howe, Carol sent me copies of all of the notes made about Francotte's written by hand by her husband Larry Barnes in the days before computers. I can only imagine what he might have done with the assets that were available to me. Carol also provided me with one of the short run of the biography of Justus Von Lengerke. Hail and farewell to a magnificent and generous lady. We are the better for your too short stay with us.
With sadness,
