Kiowa Creek is $0.40/target and it is a pretty nice facility. Membership is around $300/year but you get 100 free targets and some other goodies

All local clubs aren't run by volunteers. I don't know of one that is. My home club that is at $30/100 has two sporting ranges, a skeet range, a trap range, and has a supper one night a month where the club supplies and cooks the entree and members bring side dishes. It is a true commercial enterprise, originally built to supplement farm income. The owners are two brothers that farm full time and pay part time help to run the place when they're busy in the fields. It's not as black and white as you paint it.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

If a going business, I have found most courses charge what is needed. Sandanona, Deep River, Negaunee, Emmett County, Hillsdale’s Halter Center, Three Oaks and so on all have something to offer. I shoot the first a couple of times a year and the others more often due to proximity. I also find my way to a lot of local, volunteer-driven clubs. Whether staffed or not, each of these clubs is striving to do what’s best for shooters on the courses ime. We are hugely fortunate to be able to enjoy the variety.

Which reminds me, Jeff we need to get together and shoot more in 2025.

Stan's course isn't fancy but throws good targets, challenging but not impossible. I have 3 courses within an hour, all open to the public. Back 40 is privately owned but run almost as a side to his wedding hosting business, but he sets good targets, keeps thigs running smooth and sells ammo, reloading supplies very reasonable. Kosko County is volunteer with a very good membership price which allows you almost full access to Sporting, plus skeet and trap during open hours. Targets are in the $35 range and then Deer Creek which has gotten expensive. They do offer a membership which gets targets down to the $40+ range, but between initiation and yearly dues no bargain. I do like to try different courses hoping to find the hidden gem, like a local restaurant that only the locals know is really great.

At the club I am a member they have 4 courses. Each is set up with a different difficulty, so you choose your poison. You do not have to stay on the same course. You can hop from from one to the other. Most stations have 3-4 traps per station. We also have a couple of high towers that I think are impossible to hit.

Specially when there are people that can walk out there, and shoot 25 of them in a row and pulverize everyone of them. Without any discernible effort. Just knowledge of what it takes to break that sort of presentation.
