You have quite a rifle in that 1886, Parabola. I envy you. I never fully appreciated them until reading a book loaned me by a close friend recently. If you don't have it, or access to it, you are missing an absolute wealth of information on the lever Winchester rifles and all the chamberings; including test data, loading data, and lots of stories of it's use here in the States by the author and others. This is the book I speak of . . . . The Winchester Lever Legacy by Clyde Williamson. He fired some 750,000 rounds over the years he was testing and collecting data for this book. At 664 pages it is a massive tome.
