I hope it was a doe pregnant with triplets. I'm sorry, I don't hate the things, 'cause God created them. But . . . . . I despise them a lot.

And to think that at one time whitetails were relatively rare in the US. We had very few deer and no season in Iowa when I was growing up. Now it's a destination state for those looking for trophy bucks. Wooded property in some parts of the state is now worth more than tillable ground. Owners selling the property to nonresident hunters or else leasing hunting rights. Previously, farmers appreciated the local deer hunters showing up to reduce the population. Now a lot of them find it difficult to find private ground on which to hunt without paying.
