...My little story about my visit to Gene's Gun Shop was just one of many I could tell. I've been in a lot of gun shops in my life, but none came close to Gene's. To say he was unconventional would be the understatement of the year. And I sure wish I had taken fuller advantage of the gunsmithing knowledge he was willing to share with me. I was too young to really appreciate it. I understand he was kind of forced into early retirement after the anti-gun Democrat Bill Clinton started clamping down on FFL holders. Gene just wasn't all that concerned about little things like accurate record-keeping, 3 day waiting periods, etc. His wife took care of most of the paperwork, but she wasn't able to control him. Considering the booty he was able to take from his Nazi superiors, and somehow smuggle into the U.S after the war, even they weren't able to control him. He did it his way until he couldn't.
