Thought this might be of interest. Will Primos has donated his five gun set of custom Purdeys (12, 16, 20, 28 and .410) to Pheasants Forever/Quail Forever to be auctioned for habitat improvement. https://pheasantsforever.org/BlogLa...-Shotgun-Collection-to-Conservation.aspx . Not a ton of .410 or 28-gauge Purdeys out there - and five-gauge sets are few and far between. I’ve donated hundreds of hours to the PF chapter in Sidney, NE and believe in what they are doing. Primos’ donation will provide some serious funding $ for wildlife. Nice to see.

Wow! I've been a PF member/supporter for a long time. I recall listening to a call in talk radio show several years ago. It was about birding and had 2 members of the Audubon Society answering questions. Somehow the subject of PF came up. One of the Audubon guys commented that while he was not a hunter, he was on the banquet committee of his local PF chapter.
The host of the show seemed somewhat surprised, and asked him why he'd be working with a hunting group if he doesn't hunt. "Because they do the best local habitat work of any conservation organization" he replied.

Kudos to Mr. Primos, That is one heck of a generous donation!
Now if only I could find that mythical money tree my father kept telling me must exist somewhere but wasn't in our back yard. I hope the right bidders come along and send the money from their tree to a great cause.

His daughter shot her first pheasant over my golden, Ande. The founder of the university student chapter of DU was also founded by a nonhunter/bird watcher. Some people get it.

Wonderful gesture! We need to preserve, restore, and properly manage all the perennial grasslands we can.

I'll be eighty years old when Rock Island sells these guns. Good luck y'all.
