Not that it matters, but I view it all as a big Rugby scrum, with a whole bunch of muscle pushing the mass all over the place, for eternity.
There is no stasis.
Sometimes it squishes in a direction I find favorable, other times not.

Just have to keep my pot of beans full in the face of it.

To a point, I would agree with you, but progressivism isn't about self-interest, nor is it rational. It's about self-dislike and a hatred for anyone they disagree with, with some nebulous ideals shoveled in to give it some respectability. Self-interest doesn't really factor into this. Like Lenin said about capitalist dupes, we'll hang them with the rope they sell us. How about gays for Palestine? If they showed up in Palestine they'd get chucked off a tall building. Defund the police? Close the jails? That will work out well for them. How about the stupid white progs who show up at a BLM rally and get told if they want to help they can hand over their money and property and get lost. Progressivism is every bad idea of the last 150 years cooked together in a stew to poison Western Civilization, and they will happily drive themselves off a cliff cheering.
