It took a few seconds to Google the answer, which comes from the Miller trigger website.

" In continuous production since the 1920's, the Miller Single Trigger is regarded as the simplest and most reliable single trigger conversion ever made. We offer double trigger to single trigger conversions for Parker Brothers, A.H. Fox, Ithaca NID and L.C. Smith shotguns."

At least in thirties. I have a letter somewhere from the Millers talking of conflicts with Ithaca back then. Super triggers.

Ithaca was offering the Miller by at least 1926 (maybe earlier) but the depression and a $2.00 added surcharge from Miller hastened their transition to the in-house designed Howland single trigger. (Ref: the surcharge, I’m like Daryl - somewhere I have a reference note but where? 🤔)

A few years ago Researcher was able to help us by finding a listing for a single selective trigger in the 1925 Ithaca catalog (assumed to be the Miller). There was no listing for a single trigger in the ‘24 edition.

Walt discusses the conflicts with Ithaca here
https://doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=60186&page=4

E.E. Miller patent #1,725,663 was granted 8-20-29 and there were several thereafter.
1933 Patent

There are however guns out there with early DOM but Miller triggers, of course possibly replacements

While we're at it
The Lard ST was introduced by Westley Richards in the fall of 1901 but it was not patented until 12-15-1903 #747,101 and introduced as the Hunter One-Trigger in 1904
J.A.R. Elliott patented a single trigger #737,531 May, 1902
The earliest Fulford ST ad I've seen is 1904 but his patents were #704,024 and #704,025 July 8,1902
https://patents.google.com/patent/GB190212677A/en
The Philadelphia ST was introduced in 1906
The Infallible Lancaster Arms ST was patented in 1906
https://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=59417&page=1
It was offered on Ithaca guns from the factory at least by 1915

[Linked Image from photos.smugmug.com]

Fox-Kautzky was 1914
The Lindsay ST, used by Baker Gun & Forging, was patented 4-2-1918 #1,261,414
Novotny ST 6-4-1918 #1,268,760
The Parker ST was first cataloged in 1923

I'm sure Dave has some more, and likely date corrections. He has a list of single triggers that Remington was considering c. 1900

There is no information on this thread about the original Miller trigger. Someone should post such information soon.

That's because that wasn't what the OP wanted to know...

Obviously, the Miller Single Trigger was marketed and sold several years prior to the Patent being granted.

eightbore, lots of info on the Miller above. Especially, look at Walt Snyder's info in the back posts noted by Drew.

The Miller trigger in relation to Ithaca's use of that trigger doesn't shed any light on "When did the Miller trigger come out." A dated magazine ad for the Miller trigger would help.
