Headed out for a few days of fun in the sun. Hauling some venison and some game birds for my former Pennsylvania college hunting buddy to stash in his freezer too (as a housewarming gift).
Whaddya do in Tampa besides warm up a little and walk a few beaches?

Eat Cuban food at the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, visit the Salvador Dali museum in St. Pete, both are excellent experiences. Hard to beat Bern's Steakhouse as well. I went to college in Tampa, had way too much fun.

Lloyd, I believe Florida has some great sporting clays courses, that's where I would start to get off the beaches. Karl

Check out the pawn shops. I had an Uncle who used to go down several times a year and he would hit the pawn shops. Always would come back with a trunk full

Funny you should mention the pawnshops.
Saw a very high-end French sidelock gun at our Vintagers Valentine's Day event recently that the new owner had found down there in a pawnshop. Trying to remember the name (had fabulous engraving).
It was a Labeau-Courally, and he paid almost nothing for it.

Mike: I'm a huge seafood fan and looking forward to that part. My buddy, no so much, but he really likes ruffed grouse and venison (you always want what you can't get, eh?)

Take advantage of your time in Florida and look at some of the 55+ retirement communities as an option for getting out of this communist run state.

dogon: I'd certainly consider it but...I'm married to the "ice queen".
No southern destinations in our future, sadly. Right now I'm researching the Black Hills and western South Dakota for my next possible bug-out location.
Cool and colder and with trees are the requirements, with good access to an airport.
