James,
The truckers saga, was an eye opener for most of us. Here in the states, we were absolutely blown away at the level of tyranny unleashed on people who just wanted to work. Your government shut down their ability to work, bank, commute, their right to privacy, their right to unreasonable search and seizure, and to be left in peace. Over a medical mandate that was suspicious at first, and ended up being useless and harmful when the dust settled.
It isn’t a blanket statement, if I witnessed a blanket being thrown over a segment of your population. A large, peaceful and productive segment of your population.
The problem with letting the left incrementally erode your right’s over the span of 50 or 100 years is you are left with literally no way to get that back. Read that again. What the hell are you going to do, now, to get what you had back?
It is too late to think an organization like the NRA can help you, at this point.
Best,
Ted
If you knew the details of the trucker saga you’d know that it began in the West and the majority were from the West. And it’s the dominant leftist East that infringed on their rights.
Go back to what I said about two Californias and think about that. You’d be screwed. Trump amd MAGA won a great victory but the margin of votes, considering the 330 million or so who live in the US, wasn’t all that much. If they hadn’t won, would that mean all Americans are useless do-nothings?
I’m more aware than you of my country’s failings. I’ve been struggling against its direction since shortly after I gained the right to vote in 1976. What I can tell you, if you care to listen, is there are many, many Canadians who share my outlook and yours, about how things should be. The basic problem is the vast majority are in the West, so their vote gets diluted because so many of them live in the same political jurisdictions. It’s why I believe Canada should be broken into at least two and probably three countries. The regional differences are just too big to overcome and have a shared vision for the future.
Even if they don’t win the Cup, LR, it’s been an enjoyable season. How ‘bout them Wings! Bwahaha.
