This is a subject that has intrigued me. And any all opinions and corrections to my thinking are welcome.

I have it as a general rule of thumb that British and Continental Damascus was finished with a brown (plum) and white colour scheme. And that American guns typically had their Damascus barrels finished black and white.

So this leads me to Lindner's guns. They were Prussian made but made for the American market and ordered/paid for by an American company. Should the barrels be finished brown and white or black and white? And is there any evidence of how they were actually finished.
