AGS, the guns sound quite similar but a few differences on the finish.

This gun is serial numbered to very much the mid 400s and the barrel number is low-mid 600s. The barrel inscription is Charles Daly Fine Damascus Barrels with matting as on yours and the pattern, as you suggest, extremely dense. But both the barrels and the ribs have a uniform plum coloration, with the Damascus pattern being very well defined. There is no sign anywhere of there being a black and white finish on the ribs.

i know the barrels were redone within the last 30 years.And I'm pretty sure that when they were done, whatever the original colour mix was, they were redone as brown and white.
