There is no stippling on my E. There seems to be slightly more of the border scroll around it & it also has a scroll pattern on the side plates. When i got it, it had been re-finished & the receiver & sideplates are a bright blue, but there is no indication of the stippling having been there. It appears the bbls were rust blued & the fram, plates etc were either hot blued or niter blued. Kept meaning to strip & put back more proper, but never got it done.
Incidently I checked that 1889 catalog & it did not mention the engine turned rib, the 1892 one does however. Have nothing in between.
