oskar,
Yes, I have taken note before that you shoot 6.5x58R S&S. I made a "ring" sizing die and size .264" to .261" for my 6.5x58R and now a 6.5x48R. I was greatly surprised that the 6.5x48R was actually a little more powerful than the 6.5x58R with DWM nitro loads. I use resized 90gr HP and 95gr SP bullets, so far, in mine. If I get a chance, I intend to try mine (with the SP bullet) on a small Alabama Whitetail. I have been using original length 38-55 cases for the 58 and 30-30 cases for the 48. The 30-30 cases work out great because they trim to full length. The 38-55 are a little bit short but work out fine when the bullet is seated a little "out". I use IMR 4895 (pulldown) powder because it seems to have a burn rate similar to German R5 and I have a good bit of it. Thinning the rims on both cases takes off the incorrect headstamp, but I have to deepen the primer pockets with a primer pocket uniformer. I understand you use 9.3x72R cases to make yours because the Bertram necks won't hold the bullets. I do have to neck size the 58 cases in 257 Roberts die and the 48 in a shortened 6.5 Japanese die. So far, it all works.
Mike
