I shot with a guy last week that had a custom ordered Venus from Upland Gun Co. I liked the look and feel and now regret I didn't shoot it to see what the trigger pulls were. His was a 28 ga with better than average wood, nicely engraved and as I said very good balance. His was about $6K and took a year to get. They are made in Italy.

My only question is how the gun opens and stays open.
I tried an AYA 4/53 and besides not shooting both barrels to point of aim (one was about 8" low at 16 yds.)
when I open it, the barrels have to be forced against spring tension of the cocking arms to fully open. My RBL and my Foxes drop and clear the breech without pressure.
Does the RFM boxlock open more like an AYA or more like an RBL?

I own two Zeus models, a 16ga and a 28ga.
I have been very pleased with both, beautiful guns and no problems with either.
It's hard to beat getting a new gun built to your specs and getting to pick out your wood.
Both mine came in around $5k.
My 16ga opens fully, it is broken in well after 2 seasons, my 28ga opens fully part of the time, still breaking it in, only used one season.

Can you describe just exactly how you picked out your wood. I see on their online tool how you can order upgraded wood, but do you get to see pictures ahead of time?

I have a friend who is a preserve guide that ordered a 28 gauge. Delivery hopefully in October. She picked what grade of Wood she wanted and a few months later she was sent pictures of 3 blanks (both sides) to choose from. Her wood choice had her name written on it and will end up on her gun. FWIW, I feel their grades of wood are pretty blah until you get up to the higher grades. I inquired at one point whether a client could supply their own wood and was told that is not an option.

Tut is correct, you pick what grade you want, then get to pick from 3-6 choices, you get to see both sides.
On my 28ga, I didn't like any of the first 3 and was shown 3 more to choose from.
I ordered grade 4 on both mine.
IMO the oil finish is a little thin, I added several coats of Timberluxe to both of mine.

My 16ga took 9 months, my 28ga took 8 months, I think they are saying a year now.
