Hello, just wondering if they are heavy for the gauge or just right?

Stay well

Greg

My 16ga is a little heavy, it has 29" barrels, POW stock and semi beaver forend, its just over 7 lbs.
I could see an english stock and splinter forend coming in close to a pound lighter.
My 28ga is right at 6lbs.
Mine are Zeus models, the Venus model is supposed to be lighter.

I know someone that ordered a 16ga Zeus, he got them to weigh the stock blanks he had to choose from, and he picked the lightest one.
His gun is set up like mine and his comes in right at 6 lbs.

My wife lets me buy all the guns I can hide.

I shoot with a friend who ordered a gun from them well over a year ago. They messed up the wood finish. He's still waiting for that to be taken care of. About a year and a half by now.

I believe the Venus model in the 28 gauge is on a smaller frame as that's what my guide friend ordered. I think the weight is supposed to be around 5.5 lbs in 28 gauge. She ordered the Venus because she wanted a lighter model to carry.

A friend ordered a 28ga with grade 3 wood and deep engraving. I'm not impressed with the wood to metal fit or the engraving, at over $6k I would have been a lot more picky with everything . Its nice that the stock dimensions are customized, if you have odd dimensions. For my pennies I would be looking at a vintage gun and a restock, although admittedly its tough (and costly) to find a 28ga candidate for that (which is why I have a safe full of 20s I suppose). I'm lucky to be built like an early 20th century farm hand, so a lot of old guns fit me off the rack.

They seem to be popular with the Instagram crowd, if that tells you anything. But as long as people are happy with them, I'm happy for them.

LGS has used 12ga Zeus, about same handling as BSS boxlock. Quality about equal to CSMC RBL.
