Finally made it back to Denver after an interminable delay process and it was the same going out. "Lightening" was detected within 20-miles of the airport and the ground crews stopped loading the luggage going up (are we all 4-years old and in wading pools now?) and then there was a "ground stop for fog" as given for the problem coming home (my wife waited several hours before giving up and going home w/o me and she saw no fog anywhere).

It seems every flight is delayed anymore (at least that has been the case for me lately). Maybe it's just Denver(?) but these problems were unheard of when I was traveling for work just a few short years ago.

Have we become a nation of wimps (or is that just in the blue cities)?

There used to be an aircraft and lightning research facility on my way to work. I drive past it every day:

https://www.parkbugle.org/the-plane-to-nowhere/

Figured they learned enough about lightning as the plane went to Wright Patterson and the building is occupied by Xcel energy.

The building reminds me of the one the ghost busters rented in the movie, right down to the neighborhood being like “a demilitarized zone”.

Ted

Maybe I'm just being a cranky old man but we used to be able to get things done and on time in this country. Now Boeing can't build Air Force One anymore and the airlines are perpetually crowded, late, and full of lame excuses.

Is it work-ethic, illigals, unions, drugs...what? I'm sensing a zero "can-do" attitude from most of our institutions these days.

Is it "the resistence to Trump" perhaps? Mind you, I've been up since 2 AM this morning and I'm still not home yet.

It’s just you Lloyd.

If you hit the tri-fecta , maybe it’s gov’t subsidized, unionized, illegal guest workers gun in’ get ya.

Careful though, they might move in next door to you.

Think they own any shotguns?

Out there doing it best I can.

You are indeed just a cranky old man, Lloyd.

Airlines have been chronically late and delayed for multiple decades. And it's been the subject of all kinds of complaints and whining and crying and government investigations which has led to nothing.

And of course, now they're even more understaffed with people, air traffic controllers and the like, so maybe it's not Trump resistance, but Trump offensive.

Don’t you get sick of being wrong?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/suzann...ing-supercharge-air-traffic-controllers/

This has been a decades long issue, not a “now” issue. Elon Musk provided Starlink internet to the FAA (under Trump) to improve security of air traffic control. There has been a flurry of activity at the FAA since Trump was elected to streamline and shorten the hiring and training process, but, all you can do is whine about “Orange man bad”.

Hey, did you hear the news today from Rasmussen that, for the first time in history, a majority believes the country is on the right track?

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/...-number-hits-50-first-time-poll-history/

Make note of it.

Best,
Ted

Ted ted ted. Of course, it's been a decades long problem, and now it's gotten worse because they're shorthanding the agency, just like every other agency
And trump and every other president, has promised to do things to make it better, and none of them have it goes on and on. Trump's not alone in this one, that's for sure. The orange man is bad, but that's not news.

I'm sure rasmussen paid a pretty penny for that, just likem those draft dodgers that got out of jail by Having mommy whisper sweet dollar signs in trump's ear the other night.

Now, back to pounding on your keyboard in your mom's basement. I hear they are opening a commissary, just down the road from you. You won't bump into me in one of those. But I imagine you will spend a lot of time and money there. Sweet dreams.

Should’a known Forbes was way, way, way, above your pay grade.

The big clue is the article contradicts everything you have written.

Just level with us-you couldn’t read it, could you?

You imagine many things, most of them imaginary.

Best,
Ted

The reason for some of the delays deals with lawyers. Every decision gets second guessed with hindsight. So lightning within several miles will run people inside. Weather, any where near a plane will get a very close examination with certain decisions to err on the side of caution.
