My father flew the PV1 Ventura during the war. He patrolled the Atlantic coast from North Carolina to Maine hunting submarines. About 30 years ago the Confederate Air Force flew in some planes to Alexandria including a PV2 Harpoon.
My dad showed them some pictures of his squadron and they got excited as they saw the original markings on the planes. The pilots wanted to buy his pictures but he said they could have them for a ride. He got to ride in the right seat. The pilots said they very rarely got to meet Ventura pilots.
