1816 was known as "The Year Without a Summer", after Mt. Tambora had several volcanic eruptions. Global temperatures dropped by about .4 to .7 degrees Celsius causing widespread crop failures, and the famines that killed at least 10 million people. Thus proving once again that humans benefit much more from a bit of global warming than a bit of global cooling.
1816 was also the first time that a group of Muslim students were sent to study in London. That experiment isn't working out so well for London either.
