It’s got a solid foundation…hockey...
Well, the draft, free agency and expansion is coming up so I can probably keep it going for a couple more weeks. Supposedly Atlanta is going to be given another shot. I personally don’t think the citizens of that state have the intelligence or sophistication to understand the game but if there’s a billionaire down there that wants to give it a whirl, best of luck to him. It’ll probably be the best shot for Canada to get another team when they relocate to Quebec City X years later.

https://youtube.com/shorts/kU44XT5bxyI?si=8-LsNqVKlrc1bPCQAnother reason to hate the Leafs. In the world’s most fanatical hockey market, where the Leafs sell out every game with season tickets, for over 50 years now, they constantly veto a team locating in Hamilton, Kitchener or London.
Any of those three locations would do far better than any other city in Canada.
Ontario and Quebec, 25 million people. 3 teams.
Alberta 4.5 million 2 teams.
Manitoba 1.4 million. 1 team.
NS is barely 1 million. There’s not enough money in Halifax or in Quebec City. The Jets stay afloat because the silent backer is in the $50 billion plus club.
