Hard to say since lockmakers supplied many different gunmakers. If you don't know it may be stamped under the mainspring.

For some reason my subconscious says (E) Chilton.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

There were dozens of lock makers in Wolverhampton, alone. Without a name on the lock, or a name on the gun, no one could know. Ok,who engraved it ?

If you clean the crud off, the lock maker's name should be visible

That style of lock was used on Syracuse L.C. Smith's, from a patent date of November 27, 1883 by Alexander T. Brown, 289062, Side Lock System, L.C. Smith Hammer Guns. It was also the same type used in English hammer guns. In the picture you can see how close they match. https://imgur.com/a/5mxLanJ I forgot how to post picture without going through this step.
