Some years ago Jim gave me a note on my gun. I'll try to dig it out. It didn't give much information except the grade.

I’ve checked in a dozen times out of morbid curiosity. It’s a $600 gun on a good day, $800 on its best day. I just keep checking to see where it ends up. While I may be blunt, I mean no outright disrespect. I hope I’m wrong…. Still checking lest I learn something.

Marks 21: Time may prove you to be right.

However... most $600 guns need about $500 worth of work to make them serviceable and safe (& that's assuming you can find someone reasonably competent to do it) and with this gun that work has already been done (& spectacularly).

There are other intangibles here as well (history, originality, & rarity) and maybe these things only mean something to me but...time will tell after all.

I do appreciate the input & here's more photography to satisfy your morbid curiosity...

Wow! That was poor form. Please tell us what Lloyd did to you to deserve this.

And tell us.... does this morbid curiosity mean that you will finally be reducing the reserve or minimum bid prices of the guns you have listed on Gunbroker?

Many of your guns have been relisted for an awfully long time, without getting any bids, and without any reduction to a realistic minimum bid price. That makes your comment above seem hypocritical, at best.

I'd probably have never brought it up if you hadn't dumped on Lloyd's For Sale ad with your totally unsolicited appraisal. If you meant no outright disrespect, you seriously need to try harder. That's like acting innocent after intentionally kicking someone in the nuts.

Hey, I said "with all due respect" or " bless his heart" or something like that. (Just kidding )
I do agree it was a bit abrupt, and frankly I apprecaite Lloyds rational reply. I thought about editing or deleting, but I do stand by exactly what I said and am not one to troll, poke, or BS. Thus, I said it, and I leave it. I acknowledge it wasn't nice, I also believe it has nothing to do with Lloyd personally, nor does the term "deserve" have anything to do with it. The same might be said about things I have listed for sale. I don't need to sell them. I am not in the business of selling them. I just pass along my less favorites as time changes. I've done the research, I've seen the sales, and I play my cards. I am aware NEITHER post helps Lloyd sell his gun and for that I do apologize for mucking up the thread. I forgot the nature of the FOR SALE subforum and felt the need to answer Lloyds comment/question regarding the number of views without a buyer owning up to my 2 dozen views.

I surrender. Gun is pulled. Maybe guns international, maybe a deserving nephew now. Appreciate all the views here.

Since Lloyd's ad is pulled I will check in to offer my opinion. Marks_21 was totally in poor taste with the above post. But, IMO, it was also totally out of character for him.

Puzzling.

May God bless America and those who defend her.
