Way off on a tangent related to my regular research! I am seeking info related to Ralph W. Miller who was actively involved in the "Golden Age of Wildcat Cartridges" in SoCal 1930's-1950's. He was a gunsmith, a machinist, a ballistics expert and more. He worked with or influenced many of the names that went BIG - like Weatherby and others. He was especially interested in very-high-speed projectiles - notably claiming to take a .22 bullet out to 5000fps in 1942!
Notable Things:
- Worked for AiReasearch in 1942
- Worked for Vard, Inc part time ~1943-1949
- Is the "M" in PMVF/CCC Cartridge Development
- Operated custom gunsmith shop in SoCal 1949-1960
If you can help or point me in a better direction for a decent biography - I would greatly appreciate it!
And - if you have a rifle scope marked "VARD" please share it with us!
