Well, I just got off the phone with Dale at Reliable Plating. What a refreshing experience as compared to the other plating people I have spoken with.
They will take my trigger, completely strip, polish, plate first with copper, then nickle and finish the job by gold plating and a finish polish. OK, now the best part.......... all for well under $100!!!
I will take a couple of before and after pics in case anyone is interested.
Thank you all for your sincere advice and comments.
Steve

I would attempt to have them plate only the "shoe" portion of the trigger, not the plate behind the trigger that fits into the innards of the gun. That's great terminology, right, but I'll bet you know what I mean. It's possible that three layers of plating on the entire trigger could require some refitting of the rear plate mount portion into the guns innards. Depends on how close a fit you currently have, and how much plating might build up those surfaces. I would at least check into that. Lotsa luck with the job.

I had two triggers gold plated by a local Jeweler last year and it costed $20. He said the price would go up unless I did all the pre-sanding. He sanded down to 1500 and they came out nice. John
Currently own two Morgan cars. Starting on Black Powder hunting to advoid the mob of riflemen.

Steve, Give Gunter Pfrommer a call. 540-484-5555. He gold plated a pair of triggers as part of a restoration job for me. I am sure he is a lot more reasonable than some quoted here. Only cost you a phone call to find out.

To Follow Up. I just recieved my trigger back from Reliable Electroplating. Total cost, including shipping: $50.41. I cannot recommend them more highly. Professional, high quality and very helpful at every turn.

I recently had Pro Automotive Images, Inc. of Wausau, WI http://www.paiinc.net 24 ct. gold plate two triggers on my Fox upgrade project. They charged me what I believe to be a very reasonable fee of $50 for both triggers. At the bottom of the attached pic you can catch a partial glimpse of them.

Mr. Bambooler:
That is going to be a fine looking shotgun. When is Mr. Leeds going to get the handle bolted on it?
Steve:
I feel your pain... My computer doesn't understand me either.

Glenn Right after Mark Beasland gets the barrels rust blued...Toby should have the gun in a couple of weeks and it'll then take him about another week to finish it up.
