OP KurtO Boxlock Joined: Nov 2024 Posts: 23 Lewiston Maine	Greetings all! I have Merkel model 8 3 inch 20 gauge and was wondering about its chokes. On the barrel flats there are two sets of identical markings: 16 0 and 16 0 right at the end of the flats where the barrels start. Is this the choke and if so, what is it? Kurt Otterstein

Karl Graebner Sidelock Joined: May 2016 Posts: 1,540 Likes: 328 SE Michigan	Kurt, That would be the bore diameter in mm, slightly larger than the nominal bore diameter for a 20 ga. which is 15.6mm. On my Merkel 20 ga. the choke designation is expressed as VBZ (I.C.) and 1/2 (mod.). Interestingly, my chokes measure .008" and .018". Hope this helps, Karl
