Came into an interesting custom rifle by Art Mashburn of Oklahoma City. One of his many Magnum iterations back in the day! Barrel marked "Mashburn Arms, .350 Short Magnum" and super nice stock. I am interested in - Reloading dies (beg/borrow/rent/buy/etc.) KC Area
- Maker/thoughts of stock (likely Mashburn)
Any insight appreciated. Mashburn 350 Short MagnumFlickr Album - many pics

Kind of fun to be walking in the steps of the OG's 50 years after reading about them the first time!

I see the gun was built for someone named Wilson? So what's the connection to all the Welks photos and info?

No connection really - George Welk (My Avatar) was Mom's Father who came to the US from Croatia in 1905. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1918, went to all the bad places in France in WWI. he retired from the Marines in 1948 and died in 1960. Several years ago - Mom asked me to do a bit of research - just not sure when to stop!
The rifle is sort of a tangent from a spin-off of some Welk Research. I took a detour into researching an early Wildcatter "R.W. Wilson" in California. His name was mentioned along with Mashburn in many of the books I looked at. I wandered into local gun store athre weeks or so ago (short version here) and saw this rifle and had to have it. It looks great, made by one of the OG's and truly a Wildcat Cartridge Rifle made for someone named "Bob Wilson". At this time - I have no idea who Bob Wilson was!
Thanks for looking at my posts and pictures.

Do you have more information on the cartridge dimensions? I have a set of .350 Ackley Magnum dies sitting here doing nothing. I have no idea if they are close or not.

They are quite close - The link is to an image showing dimensions for the three .350/.358 magnums being discussed - Mashburn, Ackley and Norma. Biggest difference is in the how "tall" the soulder is - appears Art Mashburn was a believer in REALLY SHORT Shoulders! Guess that is what Fire-Forming is for if you can figure out how to get it inside the chamber of the rifle! FINALLY - figured out posting of pics! 35 Magnum - Mashburn Ackley Norma - Dimensions by Mike, on Flickr
