OP Lloyd3 Sidelock Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 3,641 Likes: 1076 Parker, Colorado	Hard to compare these two forms of upland hunting (woodlands and plains). The scale of things seems so different to me... My 1st decent double (bought in the middle/late 90s), a made-as left New England Arms 557 Arrieta 12-bore. I seldom show it off anymore, but it has travelled with me to many destinations. The blueing is almost worn completely through where my palm touched it during carry in warmer weather (didn't have proper shooting gloves then I guess, & too-late to worry about it now). A modern gun to shoot heavier loads than I normally do, but these wild plains birds are tougher than the woodland variants and it seems that speed does-indeed kill.
