I can usually avoid buying crap like this. However I was not successfully able to pass this one up.

The wide forearm looks really stable. Let us know how it shoots.

My favorite deer rifle is also a 6mm. I love the caliber.

Things being the way things are.... one of the catalysts of purchasing this rifle was that I had 400+ handloads that I received from a friend's father. I had bought his Ruger no. 1 and the dies and ammo. I passed on the 10 lb Ruger and have been sitting on the ammo for a long time. The first box of ammo I tried in this rifle would not chamber. As it was a good bit longer tha SAAMI, I assumed that was the issue. I finally got everything together and set the bullets back - still no dice. I tried samples from several of the containers and can't get any round to chamber. ( FWIW - what I mean is the bolt won't close. ) So I will be pulling a dozen bullets today to start fresh with resized brass. ( I don't where I put the few pieces of brass I fired in the No. 1)
So. While none of this is diabolical, I do roll my eyes at the thought of pulling down 400 rds, but I guess time will tell!

When I face situations like that I remind myself “one step at a time “. I’ve got to do that to ensure I don’t feel daunted. I would be thinking let me get just one pulled, resized, and successfully chambered, and that will be a big success. Keep us updated.

Perhaps I should’ve said I roll my eyes at buying a rifle to use the ammo that I can’t use in it. But of course, I realize handloading is a custom endeavor and right out of the box I want a heavier deer sized bullet in my loads. I did intend to do a bit of practice with the other stuff though. The scope is interesting. It’s the first one I’ve ever seen that has a triple Plex rather than a duplex.

You want the rifle or the ammo? The chamber on the Jaeger is SUPER tight. It took several attempts to completely and fully resize the pulled down brass and get shooting.
I was in the double stand with my 11 yr old as he crossbowed a nice 8 pt last night. So now it’s processing time not shooting time!
