FYI, I spoke with my gunsmith yesterday regarding a repair and he stated that none of his British suppliers will ship to the US because of the tariffs. The repair was a new firing pin for a Green Martini- Henry trap gun.
I'd prefer we not turn this is into a long political thread regarding the tariff's. Just trying to give everyone a heads up. If I'm not being too nosy, what gunsmith do you have now that Mitch Schultz at Gunsmithing LTD. has closed, Chantry? He sure did a great job on my 21. Parker Gunsmithing in Bethel, CT www.parkergunsmithing.com
I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.

Chantry I am in CT as well. i can make the firing pin or any other parts you may need Thanks, but making a brand new Greener Martini Henry trap shotgun firing pin is probably going to cost more than I have in the gun already and the gun has no historical, sentimental or intrinsic value. But if you want to PM contact info or a website for the future reference that would be great. I like being able to drive the gun to the gunsmith rather than go through the aggravation of shipping it. This is all finally beginning to make sense. I kinda got a whiff of it at the beginning, but now it seems very apparent. This was never about having a replacement firing pin made for a Greener Martini Henry shotgun, either in the U.K., or right here in the U.S. The whole idea has been dashed without even knowing the potential costs. And not even possibly having one made very close to home in Connecticut. Instead, it appears that this was a thinly veiled political Thread intended to complain about the Trump tariffs. I'm sure glad that I wasn't the one who made it about politics! That would make grown men curl up in the fetal position and wet their panties.

Now I remember why I have Keith on ignore, he's an idiot.
In general I am in favor of the tariffs and I also understand if English or other foreign suppliers don't want to deal with the tariffs on low profit items.
I encourage everyone to look up what the Martini Henry firing pin actually looks like. I am not a gunsmith, but I am pretty sure that the firing pin for a Martini Henry is not going to be inexpensive.

I would feel like an idiot if I had someone on IGNORE, and still read and responded to what they posted here. I would also feel like an idiot if I couldn't manage to post either a photo, or a working link to an image of a firing pin. Something that was machined once can certainly be machined again. One gunsmith even reached out to you offering to make the part, and further informed you that many gunsmiths could do it here in the US. Given the fact that you weren't the least bit interested in actually getting a new firing pin, why should any of us bother to look it up when you yourself do not care enough to fix it? Considering those facts, it was easy to conclude that you had ulterior motives for wasting our time. Please really and truly put me on IGNORE... instead of acting like a pissed off woman and just pretending to IGNORE me.

I always read the people's posts that I have on IGNORE. That makes their posts stand out better and I don't want to miss what certain people say. And I wouldn't want to miss keith's posts on politics. They are so hilarious. His humor really makes my day. My second favorite thing to see- next to watching The Gilmore Girls. ๐๐๐
