Interesting Nimrod Kombo on a 88 Bolt Gun Platform. I have seen others but not a Nimrod. It wears a DRGM # 126513. Given as experiencing proof in March 1918.

I thought about bidding, but that quickly passed. I lifted some fotos I will post.

A nice and curious gun. These combinations have been variously featured in German gun journals. The seller might wish to update his knowledge of various Mauser actions, but never mind...

This is a very interesting gun for those of us that appreciate German combination guns. I have seen similar guns pictured or written up in articles but based on mod. 98 Mauser actions, not mod.88 Commission actions. I doubt that it was actually made by Nimrod Gewehr Fabrik.
Rather, I think (without proof) that it was likely made by another craftsman for marketing by Nimrod. I believe a "Schlegelmilch" was associated with Thieme in Nimrod, but it is spelled "Schlegelmich" in the advert. It is well known that Louis Schlegelmilch in the Spandau Arsenal was the "daddy" of the Mod.88 bolt and Nimrod would not likely misspell the name (even if they are different people). As I indicated, this is only one person's opinion.

What is most interesting to me are the stamps. There are a few that aren't quite visible. But it appears it passed the 4000 atm test(Atmosphärenpulver) and was tested w/ Trioisdorfer, so it had to pass thru the Collath Franfurt an der Oder Proof Facility.

For the Blue encircled marks, I see >>Crown over F(script)<<, which was the pre-1912 Voluntary Semi-Smokeless Stamp of the Frankfurt Proof Facility, solely using the powder Trioisdorfer; said Proof Facility at one time or for all was under Collath's Umbrella or maybe even @ his house. Following that is a load 5 Grammes of TS2 powder over what looks to be 35,5 Grammes of Blei / Schrot / Shot.

In the Purple encircled area there is the Nitro / Atmosphärenpulver over some chicken scratching(maybe >>3/07<<, so possibly a date??) I can't read followed by the number >>257<<.

I agree Ford and more than likely Collath made it as in Kindergarten Collath didn't get high marks for spelling and he proved to be a poor speller later on in life.

On the left side of the receiver below the Suhler mount, it reads 2,5 g G.B.P.(Military Flaker Pulver) over St. m. G. or Steel Jacketed Bullet.

Here's a 16 bore from 2019. Seems all the Custodians are passing & their holdings are up for sale.

It appears that D.R.G.M.(Gebrauchsmuster) 126513, being a novel idea or petty patent short of a bona fide patent, was held by Peter Oberhammer, München(long live the Monks) and really that is no surprise.

Definitely Peter Oberhammer, München being the City of Monks, but I cannot find the exact Gebrauchsmuster #126513 / D.R.G.M.126513 novel addition but there are several other similar platforms or variations.
