Readers of this thread may not know that Lindner student and poster on this thread, JonS, my friend Jon Swindle, passed away earlier this year. He is my shooting buddy, traveling companion, and fellow Lindner collector. In his last days at a care facility, I was able to visit him on a regular basis, which some of his friends could not do. He suffered from severe Parkinsons. Bill Murphy in Maryland.

Sorry to hear about Jon. I used to shoot with him occasionally at Prospect Hall. He was a true gentleman and a good shot.

"Good Shot" is an understatement. Jon shot lights out almost to his death. He was like I am, could barely load the gun, but he could shoot the gun.

Since this is a doublegun site, I will mention that I was able to purchase (JonS) Jon Swindle's favorite possession, his Daniel Fraser Whitworth fluid steel hammer pigeon gun. I was the first to fire this gun on his return from a driven grouse shoot in Scotland decades ago. Regardless of my feelings for many pigeon guns in my collection, the Fraser will now be my favorite.

As a result of this thread, Jon reached out to me back in the spring of 2020 and we began a series of phone conversations that lasted until shortly before his passing. I can't speak highly enough of him. Always a pleasure to talk to. I always looked forward to hearing from him. One of my greatest disappointments of my 20 years of vintage guns was not being able to take advantage of Jon's kind invitation for me to come down and spend a few days with him. I really regret not ensuring that happened. But I relish the fact that I did meet him, if only electronically.
