Good day all,

I am Looking for pictures of the safety and its components on a 1910 LC Smith with a 2 piece tang and a Hunter one Trigger
I was wondering if anyone has or knows where I could find pictures of the working mechanism….the poor old Smith I’m looking at was worked over by a”bodger” and the safety mechanism is quite messed up and parts nearly destroyed.
I would like to see what it looked like when it was new.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

All best,
CJ

CJ I don't have any pictures of the safety itself but maybe these will help you. Same with the two piece top tang.

Thank you David, yes the pictures help quite a bit…I guess I’m missing the safety spring and the automatic safety rod that travels in that groove under the tang, I can make the spring now but have no idea what that rod looks like…any pics showing it, I would like to duplicate it correctly
Thanks

CJ, Glad the pictures helped. You stated this gun has the Hunter One Trigger, therefor it will not have the safety slide it is now a manual safety operation. In the pictures you can see how the top tang was cut away for the spur lever to rise for the second firing. That section is removed only on the Featherweight guns (FW). The Regular weight with a HOT is also a manual operated safety

Thank you David, that makes things easier…so not as bad as I thought after all, but I’m sure I’ll find something else as I wonder through the workings.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year

And also to you.
If you need any other information, I will try to help with what I know.
