So near but so far. That gun is literally fifteen minutes down the road from me. I'd be happy to go check it out for anybody that was interested. But i would be just a tire kicker on my own for this one.

In case no one else warned you, once you have one, you will want another one.

That Hallowell example is about as pretty as a gun can get. The butt treatment does detract. I am not sure about the top rib tapering to 1/16 " at the muzzle.

Look at the serial numbers on the barrels and trigger guard....???? Fore end doesn't match either - different PU number. That one would bear some careful examination before considering a purchase. It looks like it could stand some work. A new bolt and spindle probably wouldn't go amiss.......

Certainly not many made by Dickson. The stock is cracked on the bottom. Not sure what it cost to fix. Ken

Certainly not many made by Dickson. The stock is cracked on the bottom. Not sure what it cost to fix. Ken Just about every skeleton action Dickson stock will be cracked under the action bar. The wood is very thin in the center, because of the relief for the cocking bar. There is a lot of flexing going on there.

True about wanting more Dickson's. I have two Round Actions, a 1909 and a 1943. I also have a Dickson hammer gun I am presently trying to sell.

If someone tells you to try to bend the stock, don’t do it.

I have one, a very pretty one, Kell engraved. It just came out of a complete strip and clean. It’s not Damascus and it’s not inexpensive.
