The original Ruger Red Label in 20 ga. was not bad. Decent handling, decent aesthetics.

Then Ruger brought out a 12 gauge version that made the descriptive phrase "pig on a shovel", regarding its dynamics, seem like an understatement. But the Gen II 12 gauge was much better in the dynamics department and had other improvements that made it a much better-handling/shooting gun. Jmo, but I believe this new offering is pretty close to $1000 overpriced. If I had to make a wild-ass guess as to what CSMC is charging Ruger to build this gun, I would say $1800, and that would be a high estimate. I wish all concerned well, regardless.
