Unfortunately, to do this job properly, it will take a bit more than welding. The low spots need to be built up, the welds then polished out and it appears a very small amount of re-cutting the engraving seen in the 2nd picture. Once that is properly repaired the finish needs to be blended to match. I have done a fair bit of this kind of work, check out the Holland .303 single in the single barrel forum for an example. Costly to do correctly as it involves a fair bit of time.
