That isn't what Perry said... not even close. Easy to see why his "Rate My Professor" rating was lowest among his peers at ISU... But it does appear that Perry's comment hit a little close to home.
Anyway... Hill's Micro Welding has gotten very good reviews here and on other firearms forums for their laser welding. Fortunately, most of the damage to this gun has not extended into the engraving. And little case color remains. So it should be relatively easy to fill in and dress down without the additional expense of chasing engraving and refinishing.
