I've always been a fan of Westley Richards' guns, and despite having owned a ton of different guns over the years, I've only ever had WRs. The first was a neat little 300 Sherwood martini with a hand detachable action and takedown barrel, which I still have. The second was a 'crab knuckle' 12 bore that could fire either pinfire or central fire shells. Unfortunately I sold that one. I liked each because they were more than just the simple version of their type; each had an innovative twist.
I bring this up because I've never owned a WR hand-detachable lock double before and one just arrived today. I'll get pics up later, but for now I'll just remark that I'm amazed at how small and dainty the locks are when detached. I expected something bigger. That's mostly ignorance on my part as I rarely have reason to look inside a boxlock, in fact, pretty much the only locks I examine with regularity are on muzzleloaders.
Anyway, it's pretty neat and I feel lucky to have it.
