I have tried everywhere else including Midway and Ithaca with no success so I thought I would put this out here. I am looking for a Modified and an Improved Cylinder choke tube for a 20 gauge Ithaca 37 barrel made in King Ferry. I have been told that the King Ferry chokes and the current Sandusky Ohio tubes use different threads. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you want flush tubes or extended? It makes no difference. I just want a Modified and an Improved Cylinder.

I tried them. They are out of stock. Closed today but I will call Monday unless I find some by then. I just picked this little 37 up yesterday practically for a song with no extra chokes other than the full in it.

If you have tighter tubes, is a latch ditch option?Could you have those honed out to meet your needs? I've never heard of it being done, but I don't see why not.

Oh wow, Perry! An Ithaca Model 37! That was my first shotgun I bought when I was 16. I still have it. It's a 20 gauge with a solid rib. I had it reblued years ago and it is a fantastic gun. It has a full choke and I always shot it very well. I got a lot of squirrels, quail and rabbits with it. You might want to try it with the full choke. It might work better than you imagine. Good luck with it. You got a great gun.

You would be removing metal on the opposite side of the choke tube threads. There isn’t much there to begin with. That doesn’t seem like a good idea.
A set of tubes will turn up. They aren’t moon rocks.

Ted How does it end up being any different than an original IC or C choke tube? The threads are the same regardless.

I would expect the factory work would be perfect, much better results than would be possible by running a hone to remove material. The inside of choke tubes never look like they have been honed. You aren’t going to get those results with a brake hone and a 3/8ths drill.
