I would appreciate learning of any experience you have had in consigning shotguns to Ivory Beads in California. If you wish, please email me. jmann@worldpath.net Best, John

I've been acquainted with Jim and Jerry for a number of years. Both have always been straight shooters with me. I do notice that their guns may carry higher prices, in general, than I may willing to pay. That's still o.k. in my book. Many upscale dealers ask more than the lessor prestige dealers. I consigned a gun with them several yrs ago. It did not sell and I am glad of that at this point. If you want to controll the marketing price, you must tell them. Otherwise, you tell them what you need for the gun and they'll price it as they see fit. Talk with them about every detail. I'm sure they will be forthright.

Jim & Jerry maintain a store-front business in a very high rent neighborhood. I'd guess the difference in price per squarefoot for Ivory Beads, and Shuman's in Newville, PA is staggering!
I've always had good experience with Jim and Jerrt, but only as a purchaser.

I think they are good guys. Whenever I have to go back to Kelifornya, I make a trip to the store. Lots of interesting stuff, if a bit pricey.

I have bought only one gun from them. They were first class in all parts of the sale. Answered all my question, shipped well and even overstated the problems so the gun was better than described. Not many dealers see all the warts but they did. Still have to do all your homework and ask all the questions. But I can say if you ask they will answer and in my limited experience theirs answers were all exactly right.

I bought a Merkel off of them. They were not entirely accurate in their description of the firearm. Not enough to send it back, but not unfired like they said it was. The receiver had a good amount of the finish that had flaked off, which they had forgotten to mention. They also had a gun that a member of this board spotted that had the frame welded. when it was posted here, they withdrew the gun from their online store. recently they had a Merkel posted on their site with the top lever right of center. It made it seem that the gun was brand new and real tight, until you saw that the cross bolt was not seated completely. The gun was not completely closed. Are these honest mistakes? I don't know, But either they make a lot of them, or they are not being totally honest.

Bought two guns from them earlier in the year. One was as advertised but the other had a repair in the wrist that was never mentioned.
