When I thought I was going to get heavily into the shotgun games, I went to K-Mart, of all places, and purchased a Beretta 685. It's still here but I got out of any sort of competing, although I still chase birds now and then. I am curious about anything regarding this shotgun. It seems there are few examples out there in the general population to which I can compare. Was this just a "field grade" 686? I do see a couple over on GB listing in the $1.2-1.5k neighborhood. Is this realistic? I think I paid a very dear (at the time) $400 for mine.
This is just a matter of curiosity for me to understand value for my records and any other tidbits that might come up. It might be the prettiest firearm I own and I like it an awful lot--but I'm easy to please.
