Decided to haphazardly shoot the Meffert Treff with the factory 192gr shells while scouting today. Off hand 50 yards first shot with the gun dead nuts on. I will bench the thing later but was pleasantly surprised! Only shot those two one after the other. I understand it’s best to let these drillings cool off quite a bit between shots.Set trigger worked perfectly, used it on second shot.Sad target was tilted about 30degrees

Capital Effort whilst considering the age & obscurity of the platform..... I just hope some group follows us with a similar interest but I think the value & interest has peaked & will dip back to post WWII levels.

It looks like you can hunt with it this season like it is, without having to worry about the sights.

Yeah, I like that Bavarian Stock. Too, seldom, if every, will you find a heavily adorned Meffert.... You should change your name or call sign to >>Meffert<<....

Hammer gun made it back home.

You know, those pattern welded tubes have the preferred German exterior where the acid eats at different rates depending on the material & then it wasn't polished flat. It is a raised, etched tube surface that you can actually feel? Am I correct?

Yes gunmaker left etching as is, no polishing was done. I like it that way, different than most.
