Odd that the marks on the flats have been worked off.... I don't think a 9,3x72R Express would be marked >>Express<<??? If not, what 8,9mm chambering would be an Express? Hochachtungsvoll, Raimey rse

Raimey, German 9,3x72Rs were often proofed with a crown E to indicate Express proof I don't see why Belgian ones wouldn't also be so proofed. I'm guessing other 9.3s, certainly 9.3x57Rs (360-2 1/4 Flanged), would be express proofed. Mike

Yeah, but not a 9,3X74R in that platform.
Ford:
I just don't see a 9,3X72R being a Belgian Express round. i will have to do some reading.

um, thanks Sharps as I am dyslexic apparently. I don't think 9,3X47R would be an Express Round either?

Raimey, Pieper would chamber for any known cartridge, on request. They sold guns "for the trade" to German suppliers also. Mike

Yeah, Pieper was German and flooded the German market. So, the 9,3X47R was a German >>Express<< Round?

>>Ah, I forgot to note that pre-1924 Belgian >>Express<< rifles were subject to proof parallel to the German Rules, but there wasn't a special designated touchmark for the effort. Also, proof of other such rifles exported to Germany just are not mentioned. Possibly non-Express Rifles were not exported to Germany, but that sounds suspect. Information surrounding Express Rifles, and rifles in general, exported to Germany is wanting as well as lacking in the complex era of Belgian Proof Rules.<< https://www.doublegunshop.com/forum...Words=express&Search=true#Post668946Hochachtungsvoll, Raimey rse

I have not found in info in the Belgian Proof Law that references the use of the >>Express<< Stamp. But it could be a liberal interpretation that all arms exported to Germany were to parallel the German Rules, hence the >>Express<< stamp.
Now I would like to see proof data from the 9,3X47R Express?
