Just outside of Winston Salem Ah, yes. I know that area. I taught Army ROTC in Greensboro for three years back in the early 80's. We are from further south, my wife from Lumberton and me from a little farming community of Evergreen just about 15 miles or so southeast of Lumberton. I have a farm there about 60 miles inland from the port city of Wilmington. I hope you enjoy NC.

If you can get hooked up you could likely shoot doves in that part of NC too, Mike. Might have to travel a little ways, but it's worth it.

This Greener’s “Fine Guns” catalogue dates from about 1936 going by the dates of the testimonials from satisfied customers but I believe the grade pricing was still the same as in 1926. Use it in good health!

I like the Facile Princeps action better than the flat sided actions. If you ever get to that point, be careful who you let work on it. A self acting ejector is not for amateur gunsmiths. Best, Ted

Ted, As it is one of the later Facile Princeps guns it may well have the “Fore-end Ejecting mechanism” like the DH75 on the opposite page. Looking at the Greener self acting ejectors, like one below on my Greener made J.V. Needham gun pictured below, a first model Facile Princeps, it was a wonder that they worked when they were new let alone as this one still does after about 140 years. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/b9/4f/XBS5lYbe_t.png) The system seems to depend on the cocking arm giving the ejector kicker a slap in passing before overriding it to engage the lower cocking hook.

The guns have a bit of a reputation for troublesome ejectors in my part of the world, but, I honestly think most of that is from unqualified people working on them. Bad gunsmiths are easy to find here. Best, Ted
