As it is one of the later Facile Princeps guns it may well have the “Fore-end Ejecting mechanism” like the DH75 on the opposite page.

Looking at the Greener self acting ejectors, like one below on my Greener made J.V. Needham gun pictured below, a first model Facile Princeps, it was a wonder that they worked when they were new let alone as this one still does after about 140 years.



The system seems to depend on the cocking arm giving the ejector kicker a slap in passing before overriding it to engage the lower cocking hook.
